Stablecoins Transfer $400M Per Hour on Average, Study Shows
A Coinbase and The Block study reveals stablecoins move over $400 million per hour, with off-hours transactions leading volume.
Stablecoins are processing more than $400 million in transfers every hour on average, according to a new joint study by Coinbase and The Block — underscoring just how deeply dollar-pegged digital assets have embedded themselves into around-the-clock financial activity.

The research adds analytical weight to ongoing regulatory and institutional conversations about the role stablecoins could play in modernizing payment systems. Lawmakers and central bankers have cited transaction volume data as a key benchmark when weighing oversight frameworks for dollar-denominated digital assets.
